Crystal Ball raises more than $1.4 million for Reach for the Rainbow

Whitby, Ontario... The Crystal Ball, presented by BMW Group, recently held in Toronto, raised more than $1.4 million for the children's charity, Reach for the Rainbow. The 9th annual charity fundraiser's 1,700 guests from across the country bid generously on silent and live auction items at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre on Saturday, November 13th to raise much-needed funds for Reach for the Rainbow and their programs.

Whitby. The Crystal Ball, presented by BMW Group, recently held in Toronto,
raised more than $1.4 million for the children's charity, Reach for the
Rainbow. The 9th annual charity fundraiser's 1,700 guests from across the
country bid generously on silent and live auction items at the Metro Toronto
Convention Centre on Saturday, November 13th to raise much-needed funds for
Reach for the Rainbow and their programs.
The evening's top bid of $70,000 saw Remo Ferri become the lucky owner of a BMW
X5 3.0i Sports Activity Vehicle. Another two bidders purchased MINI Cooper S
Convertibles for $47,000. And Sylvester Chuang became the first Canadian to
own the all-new BMW K1200S Motorcycle with a bid of $30,500.
Since 1996. BMW Group Canada has been a proud supporter of Reach for the
Rainbow and the Crystal Ball by providing auction items and volunteer support.

The Crystal Ball black tie gala represents approximately 60% of Reach for the
Rainbow"s annual operating budget.
Reach for the Rainbow (RFTR) is a registered charity serving children and young
adults with developmental and physical disabilities from across Ontario. 2004
represents Reach for the Rainbow's 21st anniversary. Working within the
existing framework of programs supported by RFTR's partnering agencies, RFTR
works to provide integrated recreational, respite and outreach opportunities.
Reach for the Rainbow's goal - to promote an environment where children with
exceptionalities can grow and mature with their peers; one which encourages
awareness and compassion and that allows challenged individuals to discover
their full potential. RFTR's commitment is to belonging; to ablity, not
disablitiy, to inclusion, not segregation. In 2004, RFTR will provide services
and opportunities to over 600 children, young adults, and their families.
