Maximilian Schöberl moves to the BMW Group

New head of Corporate Affairs from autumn 2006

Munich. In the beginning of the second quarter 2006, Maximilian Schöberl (42) -
currently Director of Corporate Communication and Policy at Vodafone D2 GmbH -
will be joining the BMW Group. In the autumn, he will then succeed Richard Gaul
(59) as head of the company's Corporate Communications and Policy division. Mr.
Gaul will be retiring at the end of 2006 at the age of 60.

Maximilian Schöberl has been with Vodafone D2 GmbH since April 2003;
previously, he had been in management at the Kirch Group, after running the
Corporate Communications division at the CSU.

Richard Gaul has been with the BMW Group since 1985 and has been head of the
Corporate Affairs division since 1989. Previously, Mr. Gaul had worked as a
journalist for various publications in Germany.
