For customers who are looking for maximum riding pleasure on their BMW HP2
Enduro not just off-road but on the road too, BMW Motorrad now offers a
complete 17-inch set of wheels with road tires.
The wheels will be available for the start of the season from the end of March
2006 as a complete set including tires. The set of street wheels includes a
black anodised front wheel rim measuring 3.5 x 17 inches (normal spoke with
tube) with mounted brake disc and rear wheel rim, also black anodised,
measuring 4.0 x 17 includes (cross spoke, tubeless). The wheels have standard
Continental Road Attack tires, size 120/ 70 at front and 150/ 70 at rear.
Adapted fork protectors and assembly instructions are included.
The second set of street wheels is included in the standard package when a new
BMW HP2 is purchased. For an all-inclusive price of €16,900, the customer then
receives his new HP2 Enduro ex-works with the 17-inch street wheels. Customers
who do not want a second set of wheels can of course have their HP2 with the
familiar off-road wheels as standard, along with the appropriate tires. The
price then remains the same at €16,000 . It is not possible to order the HP2
Enduro with street wheels only instead of off-road wheels.
Until 31.12.06, owners of an HP2 have access to a comparable offer to upgrade
their motorcycle. On submission of vehicle documentation to the dealer, they
can purchase a set of street wheels at the price of €900.
Changing to street wheels is very simple, since the axle mounts are identical
to those of the standard enduro wheels. Essentially, mounting the wheels is
like a simple wheel change. Only the fork protectors have to be exchanged in
addition, and the brake caliper of the front wheel has be bolted into the new
assembly position - provided as standard - in line with the larger brake disc
diameter (320 mm).
In addition to Continental Road Attack, other tyres authorised for use are the
Bridgestone BT 020, the Metzeler Roadtac Z6, the Pirelli Diabolo Strada, and
the Pirelli Scorpion Sync.
