BMW Canada Inc. announced today that it will be the first motorcycle
manufacturer in Canada to offer a motorcycle roadside assistance program that
encompasses its entire model range of bikes.
The program, which offers coverage to all new BMW motorcycle owners for the
length of their three-year warranty agreement, will also be offered to existing
customers for the remainder of their three-year new motorcycle warranty period.
There are no kilometre restrictions within the three years of warranty
eligibility.
"BMW's motorcycle roadside assistance program brings another customer-focused
element to our already reputable service program," explains Thomas J.
Plucinsky, Manager of BMW's Canadian motorcycle operations. "Not only does it
provide assurance and peace of mind to those customers travelling long
distances, it also increases accessibility of our services to those customers
who are not located near one of our dealers."
The program will provide BMW motorcycle owners with numerous services
including: emergency road services (battery boosts, gas delivery, mechanical
breakdown towing, winching); trip interruption benefits (emergency owner
transportation if less than 80 km from home and emergency transportation,
vehicle rental, accommodation, return to repair site and special return of
passengers if more than 80 km from home); traffic accident benefits (towing,
vehicle return, emergency transport, accommodation and special return of
passengers); and travel planing services (highlighted road maps, destination
package and trip log).
Each eligible customer will receive a roadside assistance package that
includes: a BMW wallet card and windshield decal with the 1-800 number, a
program handbook, a credit card registration form and a lost key registration
form and tag. Coverage will include both Canada and the continental United
Sates, and assistance calls will be handled 365 days a year, 24 hours a day in
both English and French. Existing customers will receive their packages by the
beginning of June.
