ART OF THE MINI: Montreal artist PEpin creates a MINI art series.

Vancouver, British Columbia... A series of artwork featuring the new MINI and
created by renowned Montreal artist Lysanne Pepin (PEpin) will be unveiled this
evening at the MINI Yaletown retail center in Vancouver. The vibrant series
consists of five paintings that highlight the MINI and build on PEpin's
reputation for powerful yet subtle motion and her passionate use of colour.
Over 400 guests are expected to be on hand to celebrate the unveiling of the
MINI paintings, which will be showcased alongside several of PEpin's notorious
portraits, nudes, and still lifes.

"PEpin's art traditionally incorporates her own unique style and revolutionary
approach, and as such she was a natural fit for the MINI brand." explains
Manfred Bräunl, National Marketing Manager, BMW Group Canada.

The artwork will remain at the MINI Yaletown retail center until January 2003,
following which it will be showcased at MINI retail centers across the country.

PEpin is the first Canadian artist to feature the new MINI in such a manner.
BMW Group Canada's collaboration with PEpin, however, expands upon previous
MINI art collections created by prominent artists around the world. In 2001,
the newly redesigned MINI was launched in Italy through Dalla MINI alla Mini,
an expansive collection of paintings, sculpture and multi-media exhibits
celebrating the MINI as a design icon for the twentieth century.

The 115 hp MINI Cooper retails for $25,200, while the 163 hp MINI Cooper S
retails for $29,950. To date, over 1800 MINIs have been delivered to new MINI
owners across Canada.

Established as an up & coming artist in the early nineties, PEpin broke into
the Montreal scene with an acclaimed solo exhibit followed by various shows &
events at the Rockefeller Center in New York, IIDEX in Toronto or the Montreal
SIDIM. PEpin has also exhibited many times at the Salon de l'Habitation de
Montreal & has been regularly selected by the soliciting designers for the main
house event . Other exhibitions include the Michel Blais Gallery in Vancouver,
numerous art galleries throughout Quebec & more recently this year, the ArtExpo
