Whitby, Ontario... BMW Group Canada today announced the newest course addition
to BMW Driver Training. BMW Winter Driver Training is a two-day course based
at Fairmont Le Château Montebello in eastern Quebec that will teach
participants how to better command their vehicles in typical Canadian winter
conditions.
The BMW Winter Driver Training program offers students individualized attention
as the course has a maximum of 16 participants and is taught by four renowned
instructors from Canada's BMW Driver Training program, led by Chief Instructor
Pierre Savoy.
Taught in a fleet of BMW's award winning 330i Sedans, 745i Sedans, and X5 4.4i
SAVs, the two-day course is a true Canadian winter driving experience. On day
one, participants will be challenged in driving exercises on a frozen skid-pad
on the ice covered Ottawa River. Participants will be taught obstacle
avoidance, reverse 180s and how to control rear-wheel skids. On day two,
students will test their limits and put what they learned from day one into
practice on back woods logging roads surrounding the Fairmont Le Château
Montebello. The roads will be closed to the public and will be groomed
exclusively for BMW Winter Driver Training.
BMW Winter Driver Training is the newest installment of BMW Group Canada's
national initiative to promote active safety on Canadian roads. The addition
of BMW Winter Driver Training compliments the 131 full days of Levels 1, 2 and
3 Driver Training courses scheduled for 2004. There is no pre-requisite BMW
Driver Training course required for participants of the BMW Winter Driver
Training program. BMW Driver Training is open to all Canadian drivers aged 18
and over who are in possession of a valid, full class drivers license, and
individuals do not need to own a BMW to participate.
"The BMW Winter Driver Training program expands the scope of BMW's Driver
Training programs and extends our commitment to bringing safety to Canadian
roads throughout all seasons. BMW Group Canada is pleased to be the leader of
Canadian manufacturer driver training programs," says Wolfram Cueppers,
National Marketing Manager for BMW Group Canada.
Course dates for the two-day driver training program include January 24-25,
January 26-27, January 29-30, January 31-February 1, and February 2-3, 2004.
The BMW Winter Driver Training program will be held at at the Fairmont Le
Château Montebello in eastern Quebec. The cost of the two-day course is $3,800
(plus taxes) per person and includes three night's accommodation, two days of
driving training instruction, three breakfasts, two lunches and two dinners
specially prepared in the resort's signature restaurant, Aux Chantignoles. A
companion rate for a second course participant is also available for $3,300
plus taxes (per person). The companion rate includes shared accommodations
with a regular (full-pay) participant.
