BMW Group Canada appoints three senior managers.

Whitby – BMW Group Canada is pleased to announce the appointment of Stephen McDonnell as Director, Sales for BMW Canada, John Cappella as Director, MINI Canada and Michael Ferreira as Regional Manager, Central Region, BMW Canada effective July 1, 2009. As Director, Sales, Stephen McDonnell will report to Franz Jung, President and CEO, BMW Group Canada. In his new role, Stephen will be responsible for BMW Sales, Sales Operations and Regional Operations.

Stephen joined BMW Group Financial Services Canada as Risk Management Analyst in October 1995. He assumed the position of Treasurer, BMW Group Canada in 1998 and was appointed as Corporate Controller, BMW Group Canada in January 2000. Most recently Stephen headed up the MINI division in Canada as Director.

John Cappella has been promoted to the position Director, MINI Canada, succeeding Stephen and reporting to Franz Jung. In his new role, John will be responsible for the direction, management and strategic planning of the MINI division in Canada.

John began his career with BMW Group Canada in 1999 and has held various positions including: Distribution / Supply Analyst, Distribution Development Analyst, eBusiness Manager and Brand Communications Manager. Most recently John was Regional Manager, Central Region for BMW Canada.

Michael Ferreira will succeed John Cappella and has been promoted to the position of Regional Manager, Central Region, BMW Canada, reporting to Stephen McDonnell. In his new role, Michael will be responsible for representing BMW Canada to the Retailer organization to assure high-quality, high-performance market representation in the central region. Michael joined BMW Group Canada in 2007 as Retailer Financial Manager.


BMW Group Canada, based in Whitby, Ontario, is a wholly-owned subsidiary of BMW AG and is responsible for the distribution of BMW luxury performance automobiles, Sports Activity Vehicles, Motorcycles, and MINI. BMW Group Financial Services Canada is a division of BMW Group Canada and offers retail financing and leasing programs and protection products on new and pre-owned BMW and MINI automobiles, as well as retail financing for new and pre-owned BMW Motorcycles. A total network of 40 BMW automobile retail centres, 19 BMW motorcycle retailers, and 25 MINI retailers represents the BMW Group across the country.
