The world premiere of the all-new BMW 5 Series Long Wheelbase is one of the main highlights of the Auto Shanghai 2017 show. The new business sedan is the successor to the current front-runner in the Chinese car market’s premium segment and comes with all the right credentials for cementing this leading status. Likewise making its debut public appearance is the latest special-edition version of the BMW i8 plug-in hybrid sports car.
A new era has begun. That is the key message of the new BMW film released today through all online channels. For the first time, the film “A NEW ERA” shows all four BMW Group Vision Vehicles side by side. One year after the company’s centenary, the world’s leading premium manufacturer of automobiles and motorcycles is revisiting its “THE NEXT 100 YEARS” campaign.
Munich/Barcelona. The future of intelligent driver-car connectivity is one of the key topics the BMW Group is addressing at the Mobile World Congress 2017 event in Barcelona. The next few years will see the advent of digital services that provide total connectivity between users’ worlds – at home or out and about.
Munich/Los Angeles. 2016 sees the BMW Group celebrate its centenery – under the motto THE NEXT 100 YEARS. The BMW Group continues to look first and foremost on the future, exploring the question of how individual mobility could look tomorrow for the four brands BMW, MINI, Rolls-Royce and BMW Motorcycles.
1. The BMW Group's view of the future. The BMW Group is celebrating its centenary under the motto “THE NEXT 100 YEARS”. Future orientation and adaptability have always defined the BMW Group’s identity as a company. Ever since it was founded in 1916, the BMW Group has played an important role in shaping the future of mobility.
Munich/Los Angeles. In 2016, its centenary year, the BMW Group is looking further into the future than ever before and developing a series of Vision Vehicles to address people’s mobility needs in about three decades from now. Its solutions are based on the assumption that mobility is set to become increasingly multifaceted and connected.

Last night, the BMW Group took the wraps off the newest member of the BMW 7 Series range with an exclusive launch event. The BMW Individual 7 Series THE NEXT 100 YEARS, of which just 100 edition will be built, shared the limelight with the Montblanc for BMW Centennial Fountain Pen. The exclusive writing instrument has been co-designed by BMW and Montblanc and will be handed to every owner of the centennial BMW model.
The centenary edition of the luxury sedan designed by BMW Individual, which is due to celebrate its world premiere during the anniversary year of the BMW Group, is limited to 100 units and combinable with three exceptionally fascinating drive variants, including intelligent all-wheel drive. On 7 March 2016 – one hundred years to the day since what’s now known as BMW AG was first entered into the commercial register – the BMW Group launched its 100th anniversary celebrations.
