Media Information 13 March 2008 BMW Welt welcomes Millionth Visitor.
Delivery and Encounter Centre one of the Top Five Sights in Munich.
Munich. Today at exactly 1:39 pm the BMW Welt welcomed its millionth
guest, Eric Schillings from Brüggen in the German State of North
Rhine Westfalia. Rudolf Wiedemann, the Director of the BMW Welt,
surprised this very special guest with the great news and proudly
presented a very positive attendance list of visitors: "We are
proud to have broken the mark of one million visitors within just a few
weeks after opening the BMW Welt. This proves that the BMW Welt is a
new highlight for visitors to Munich and that people are thrilled by
the unique blend of architecture, our innovative programme of events,
and the interesting exhibits." Apart from a bouquet of flowers
and a voucher for the Club Restaurant in the BMW Welt, Wiedemann
presented Eric Schillings with two VIP tickets for an exclusive
experience at the re-opening ceremony of the BMW Museum on 19 June
2008. Schillings, who had come to the BMW Welt together with his wife
Simone and their two daughters to pick up his new BMW 535d Touring in
Titanium Grey, was delighted to receive the invitation. The newly
designed and re-structured BMW Museum which, together with the BMW Welt
and the guided tour of BMW's Munich Plant, rounds off the overall BMW
Welt experience, will be opened to the public at large on 21 June. A
highlight in tourism. Immediately after its opening in October 2007, the
BMW Welt in the north of Munich became a new highlight in tourism
already ranking among the five most popular sights in the State Capital
of Bavaria. This is attributable not only to the personalised delivery
of new cars to the customer or the regular succession of product
exhibitions, but also to the very popular free jazz concerts and the
wide range of catering and restaurant facilities. Children and young
people are particularly thrilled by the Junior Campus where 7 -
13-year-olds are able to acquire knowledge in the area of mobility at
their own initiative and in a playful process. The exclusive
presentation of all BMW automobile series and motorcycles, interactive
exhibits and an events forum using the most modern technology for
events of all kinds round off the many highlights offered to visitors
and the public at large. For questions, please contact: Corporate
