The fans of speed and adrenaline on the racetrack are happy. As of June 18, 2011, MINI Challenge, a competition already successful in Brazil as it is in the rest of the world, will expand to Argentina. MINI Challenge offers the perfect combination of all the unique sensations of a racing car with MINI's unmistakable style.
A resounding success in countries like England, Spain,
Germany, Australia, New Zealand and Brazil, MINI Challenge provides
the best option for every amateur driver in our region who relishes a
grand challenge. With the power and charm of the MINI brand, it has
all it needs to become a regional success.
The only differentiating factor in this competition is talent,
as all pilots compete with identical vehicles: the MINI John Cooper
Works Challenge, the perfect race car. The cars were imported directly
from the factory in England and have a 211 hp, four-cylinder 1,598 cc
engine. With turbocharger and direct fuel injection, the car can reach
240 km / h. It accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 6.1 seconds and brakes
from 100-0 km/h in just 3.1 seconds. The minimum weight, including the
pilot, is just 1,150 kg.
"When a championship like the MINI Challenge
comes to Argentina, it is necessary to form alliances with companies
that share the passion and intrinsic sports values of our brand.
The partnership between BMW Group Argentina and All Challenge
Argentina to provide the MINI Challenge expresses these values
that will further strengthen the development of the automotive
world in Argentina" said Alejandro Echeagaray, President of BMW
Group Argentina.
Finally Dan Christian Menges, Corporate Communications Manager
recalled: "MINI is not just a brand that reflects a
different Way of Living, but is also a brand that had its origins and
roots in competition. We should not forget that MINI achieved
worldwide fame and recognition in the 60's after being champion on
several occasions of the Monte Carlo Rally. This spirit of
sportsmanship is maintained by the brand today and MINI Challenge is
the perfect way to convey the sports essence of the MINI Cooper S John
Cooper Works. "
MINI Challenge keeps growing in Latin America.
