Alessandro Lupino and Nick Triest, back after injury, were joined by promising young Italian rider Ivo Monticelli, who Team Manager Ilario Ricci insisted in giving a chance to race in these final world championship races on the Husqvarna TC 250R.

Alessandro Lupino after taking fifteenth place in Saturday’s qualifying heat , ran a great first race finishing in seventh place just four seconds off fourth place. Lupino started the race in tenth place and began to pull back positions clocking up respectable times and allowing him to finish in seventh place. The second round saw Lupino set out from the rear, but a fall on the second lap whilst attempting to make up positions, forced him to the back of the field. Lupino fell again, this time a few minutes before the end of the race, thus finishing the round in seventeenth place.

Alessandro holds on to tenth place in the overall world championship standings.

Ivo Monticelli made an encouraging debut for Husqvarna coming within a hair’s breath of the points in both rounds, finishing in twenty-first positions in each race.

The next round of the MX2 world championship takes place in England on the 12th August.

Alessandro Lupino: “I raced really well in the first round and I kept the pace until the end of the race, coming in just behind the leaders. It’s a shame that the second race didn’t turn out so well. I made too many mistakes that broke my concentration and I couldn’t get back into it as I should have. My aim is to ride the next races the same way I did the first race today at Loket”

MX2 world championship standings after 12 rounds: 1. Herlings (KTM) 528, 2. Searle (Kawasaki) 471, 3.Van Horebeek (KTM) 439,  4.Roelants (Kawasaki) 367, 5.  Nicholls (KTM) 325. 6.Tixier (KTM) 319, 7 Anstie (Honda)263, 8. Butron (KTM) 241, 9 Ferrandis (Kawasaki) 233, 10. Lupino (Husqvarna) 214.
