THE 2003 BMW K 1200 GT: FINDING THE MIDPOINT BETWEEN LUXURY AND SPORT

Woodcliff Lake, New Jersey... Whether you translate it as Gran Turismo, Gran
Touring or Grand Touring, the term GT conjures up an image of speed, comfort
and style unlike any other form of travel. It's the kind of touring that makes
First Class seem mundane, and that any other mode simply can't approach. It's
something BMW owners can certainly understand, because no other marque has its
experience or history in building bikes that fit the mold.

And for 2003, BMW introduces the K 1200 GT, a bike that defines grand touring
in grand style, by combining elements from the luxury-touring K 1200 LT and the
sport-touring K 1200 RS. Blending the performance and handling of the RS with
the comfort and convenience of the LT, the GT offers riders a range of touring
features taken from both sides of the sport and luxury equation. These include
130-hp, a 6-speed transmission, EVOlution brakes with partially integrated ABS,
reshaped fairing lowers, standard color-matched saddlebags, heated handgrips
and an electrically operated windshield. Appropriately the GT's available
options and accessories include items from both the RS and LT lists, uniquely
adapted to this newest member of BMW's four-cylinder touring family.
