Bi-monthly Series Will Showcase Work Written, Produced and Starring African
Americans
Woodcliff Lake, NJ - July 27, 2004... BMW has partnered with Blackfilm.com to
create the Blackfilm.com BMW Film Series, a three city program, to present and
promote independent and urban cinema. The series will showcase up and coming
talent while also raising funds for worthy causes.
The series, which debuts this month and continues through November 2004 will
feature screenings, discussion panels and receptions. Approximately 200 - 300
industry executives, opinion leaders, entertainment and media VIPs are invited
to attend each screening. Blackfilm.com will provide the film selections.
"BMW has long supported diversity in film and we are thrilled to partner with
Blackfilm.com to continue this tradition," said Kay Madati, Multicultural
Marketing Manager for BMW of North America. "The creation of this film series
allows us to help independent and urban film actors, filmmakers and
professionals by introducing their films to a broader audience."
The series will raise funds for local chapters of the National Black MBA
Association whose various efforts go to support art, education and social
issues in their respective cities. The goal of the series is to support and
showcase notable up and coming directors while building awareness and support
for independent film and the National Black MBA Association.
