OrangeCat Racing and Sean Dylan Kelly Make it Two Wins in Two Rounds of the 2026 MotoAmerica Quad-Lock Superbike Championship.

• SDK and BMW M 1000 RR capture their 2^nd win of the 2026 Superbike season.
• Six podium finishes in eight races for the OrangeCat Racing team.
• Jayson Uribe picks up valuable Championship points with heroic 8^th place finish.

  Woodcliff Lake, NJ – June 28, 2026 . . . In a last lap thriller that defines MotoAmerica Superbike racing, Sean Dylan Kelly, and hisNo. 40 OrangeCat Racing BMW M 1000 RR,pulled off a spectacular pass at the end of Race 2, to take their 2^nd win and 6^th podium finish of the 2026 season.

The weekend at The Ridge Motorsports Park in Shelton, WA began with some very wet practice sessions on Friday. By Saturday’s Qualifying, the sun had come out and the two OrangeCat Racing riders qualified 4^th (Kelly) and 11^th (Uribe). The rain came back for Race 1 however, making it a very cautious affair for all riders.

Race 1 

Sean Dylan Kelly would start from Row 2 (4^th position) with his teammate Jayson Uribe forced to the back of the grid and the 20^th starting grid spot due to a penalty from the previous round. From the start, Kelly found himself pushed out of the front runner group and carefully navigated the wet conditions to bring his BMW M 1000 RR home without incident in 7^th position. Meanwhile Jayson Uribe put in a heroic effort to fight his way from 20^th to 8th picking up some very important Championship points in the process.

Race 2 

The conditions improved for Sunday’s Race 2, and it was immediately obvious that the pace required pushing 100% from start to finish. Kelly would again start from 4^th position with Uribe starting from 19^th again, serving a penalty from Road America. After three laps, Kelly found himself in the non-familiar for him 7^th position while Uribe had fought his way back up to 11^th.  At the half-way mark, both riders were making good progress with SDK back up to his starting position of 4^th and Uribe running in 10^th. With just three laps to go, Jayson’s battle was to come to an unfortunate end as a mechanical issue forced him to back into the pits, ending his hopes of a second top ten finish during the weekend. His teammate Sean Dylan Kelly meanwhile had set his sights onto the lead rider and did not let go. With just two turns to go in the race, SDK made his move in spectacular fashion, taking the lead and winning the race to the cheers of his OrangeCat Racing teammates and the fans.

Sean Dylan Kelly (rider No. 40 OrangeCat BMW M 1000 RR): “I’m really happy to get our second win of the season in race 2 on Sunday. That was the best I have felt with my BMW so far, and I really believe that was the best race of my career. It was not an easy weekend at all, with a couple of crashes, having to manage some pain, and a very tough race in the wet on Saturday, finishing in P7. Sunday’s race in the dry didn’t start off too smoothly, finding myself in P8 at one point, but I was able to start making passes and felt strong. It was a tight finish with a pass for the lead with just a few corners to go. I’m grateful for the package I have to be fighting up front and I’m looking forward to Laguna Seca in a couple of weeks. Thank you all.”

Jayson Uribe (rider No. 36 OrangeCat BMW M 1000 RR): “We knew going into this round that we’d be on the back foot with a pretty severe penalty we had to serve, but we didn’t let that stop us from trying to learn as much as possible. We spent every session, including the races, trying new settings and adapting the bike to different conditions to help build our database to pull from in future events. The rainy PNW creates tricky riding conditions but also inspires great ingenuity, which I think the entire OCR/BMW crew did a great job at managing. Race 1 was soaking wet, in which we came from P20 to P8 with some hard-fought battles. Race 2 was going even better, starting dead last again and fighting my way up the field when I encountered a mechanical issue that took us out of the race. I’m disappointed that I wasn’t able to show my true potential in race 2, but these things happen in racing sometimes. The BMW M 1000 RR Superbike is truly a pleasure to ride around The Ridge; I look forward to building on these lessons and carrying the developmental momentum into Laguna Seca in about 14 days.” 

Quad Lock Superbike Championship Standings

After four rounds of Quad Lock Superbike racing, Sean Dylan Kelly sits in 2^nd place, just five points behind the lead. Jayson Uribe is in 12^th, just four points outside of the top ten.
