Woodcliff Lake, NJ – July 13, 2026 . . .The OrangeCat Racing Team, Sean Dylan Kelly, Jayson Uribe and the BMW M 1000 RR continued their charge for the 2026 MotoAmerica Quad Lock Superbike Championship by adding two more podium finishes at this weekend’s Superbike Speedfest at Monterey. Making the tally eight podium finishes, including two wins,  out of ten Superbike races this season for SDK and the BMW M-RR.

Kelly’s OrangeCat Racing teammate, Jayson Uribe, had one of his best weekends this season, qualifying 4th, actually ahead of his Championship-leading fellow team rider, Sean Dylan Kelly. Very good finishes in both Races 1 and 2 at Weathertech Raceway Laguna Seca, catapults Uribe from 12th to 8th position in the Championship.

Sean Dylan Kelly has become a fan favorite, thanks to his fearless overtakes this season, and Race 1 on Saturday was to be no different. Kelly found himself in 4th position towards the end of the race, just a few tenths of a second behind the 3rd place rider. The atmosphere was electric as spectators, viewers and announcers could feel that an attack from SDK was to happen soon as time was running out. They were not disappointed as Kelly let off the brakes, going into the very last turn of the very last lap of the race, taking the final podium spot with an inside pass. It was then a drag race to the finish line but the BMW M 1000 RR had the power to bring him home in 3rd.

Jayson Uribe meanwhile struggled a bit with extracting the maximum pace possible from his BMW but still found enough speed to finish 6th, his second-best finish of the 2026 MotoAmerica Superbike Season.

Sunday’s Race 2 saw the two OrangeCat Racing teammates startingfrom similar positions and Sean Dylan Kelly would again find himself in the familiar position of chasing the 3rd place rider. He would not wait until the very end to make his move, however as he put himself on the podium with five laps to go. SDK then set his eyes on P2 and although he closed the gap, time just ran out for him to make another exciting move. The two 3rd place finishes places Kelly into the lead of the Quad Lock Superbike Championship.

Jayson Uribe showed tremendous pace at the start of the race and brought his M-RR home in 8th position, earning 18 very important points over the weekend, his best result of the season, and moving himself up four spots in the season Championship.

Sean Dylan Kelly (rider No. 40 OrangeCat Racing BMW M 1000 RR): “It was nice to have my BMW on the podium for both races this. We had some tough races and we weren’t able to do the pace I wanted to do in the hot conditions come race time but we managed to get a last lap pass on Saturday for the podium and made a big step forward on Sunday which is extremely important for us to be a lot closer to the win and get on the box. It’s great to be leading the championship but now it’s time to stay focused on Mid-Ohio.”

Jayson Uribe (rider No. 36 OrangeCat Racing BMW M 1000 RR): “It was an eventful weekend at Laguna Seca but we had a lot of good things too. We qualified P4 which is my best in Superbike. Being so close to pole is a huge win and something I want to continue to do moving forward. The races didn’t go quite my way given factors out of my control. I was never quite able to get to the pace I know we’re cable of when it mattered the most. While frustrated, it was a learning experience and I’m thankful for the OrangeCat and BMW Motorrad team and I’m looking forward to Mid-Ohio.”

Quad Lock Superbike Championship Standings

After five rounds of Quad Lock Superbike racing, Sean Dylan Kelly extends his Championship lead by 11 points. Jayson Uribe moves up from 12th position to 8th, just eight points behind 7th place.
