Woodcliff Lake, NJ – October 6, 2026… BMW M Motorsport and BMW of North America congratulate Bill Auberlen, Brian Redman, and Hans-Joachim Stuck on their induction into the IMSA Hall of Fame. The three celebrated drivers, whose achievements are deeply connected to BMW racing history, were officially enshrined as members of the Hall’s fourth class during the WeatherTech Night of Champions following the Motul Petit Le Mans IMSA season finale at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta.
The 2026 IMSA Hall of Fame class recognizes six drivers and four race cars whose accomplishments helped shape more than five decades of North American sports car racing. For BMW M Motorsport, the induction of Auberlen, Redman, and Stuck is a fitting tribute to three exceptional competitors who delivered landmark performances in BMW racing cars across multiple eras.
Bill Auberlen: IMSA’s All-Time Victory Leader
Bill Auberlen stands as the winningest driver in IMSA championship-level competition, with a record 65 class victories from more than 450 career starts between 1987 and 2023. A three-time IMSA champion, the longtime BMW driver earned two class victories at the Rolex 24 At Daytona, four at the Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring, three at Motul Petit Le Mans, and four at
the Sahlen’s Six Hours of The Glen. His victories at 24 different circuits reflect both the breadth of his career and the enduring competitiveness of the BMW race cars he has driven.
Brian Redman: A Defining Figure in BMW’s North American Racing Story
Brian Redman’s sports car racing career combined international success with an important place in BMW’s North American competition history. His IMSA record includes 12 class victories, the 1981 IMSA GTX championship, two Rolex 24 At Daytona wins, and two Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring victories. Redman’s performances in the iconic BMW 3.0 CSL helped establish BMW as a major force in American endurance racing and created some of the marque’s most enduring motorsport memories.
Hans-Joachim Stuck: Versatility, Speed and Endurance-Racing Excellence
Hans-Joachim Stuck built a world-class career defined by speed, versatility, and success in the sport’s most demanding races. His record includes multiple victories at Daytona and Sebring, triumphs at the 24 Hours of Le Mans and the Nürburgring, and the 1985 World Sportscar Championship. Across his long association with BMW, Stuck competed in a wide range of BMW racing machinery and became one of the most recognizable ambassadors of the brand’s motorsport heritage.
“When it all began 31 years ago in the BMW M3 E36, who would have thought that I would drive all these amazing race cars in all these championships?” said Bill Auberlen. “So many great victories, so many great memories with so many colleagues! I’ve been with the best drivers, engineers, mechanics. Everybody at BMW M Motorsport put all their heart and soul into each program. That made my job as a driver a lot easier. I have literally enjoyed every day of these 31 years working with BMW. I am more than proud to have been a part of it and eternally thankful for everything.”
Three Careers, One Enduring BMW Legacy
“Bill Auberlen, Brian Redman, and Hans Stuck represent the very best of motorsport: talent, determination, and an enduring passion for competition. Their remarkable achievements have helped shape BMW’s racing heritage and inspire generations of fans. We are proud to celebrate this well-deserved honor and the lasting contribution each has made to IMSA and to BMW M Motorsport.” – Adam McGregor, BMW NA Motorsport and Customer Racing Manager
