Woodcliff Lake, NJ – September 6, 2013… Howard S. Harris, Vice President of Legal Affairs and General Counsel, BMW of North America, has announced that Larry Klein will be retiring as Corporate Counsel at the end of the year after an outstanding career of nearly 16 years with the BMW Group.
Woodcliff Lake, NJ – September 6, 2013… Howard S. Harris, Vice President of Legal Affairs and General Counsel, BMW of North America, has announced that Larry Klein will be retiring as Corporate Counsel at the end of the year after an outstanding career of nearly 16 years with the BMW Group.
Larry has been a corporate attorney for more than 30 years, having joined the BMW Group in 1998 after 15 years at a Fortune 100 Company where he was a Vice President of Legal Affairs for one of its Divisions, after starting out as a reporter for two local newspapers.
During his tenure with the BMW Group, Larry has handled the legal side of employment, marketing, real estate and a wide variety of contract and transactional matters, developing a reputation along the way as an efficient problem solver. Among his notable achievements, Larry has had a hand in shaping the company’s benefit plans and ethics and employment policies, negotiating labor issues, as well as negotiating R&D and client agreements for both the BMW Technology Office and Designworks in California. He also managed the talent and production contracts for the landmark BMW cinema series, “The Hire”, and helped the company negotiate sponsorships for the 2012 Summer Olympics and the Guggenheim Museum to create a city of the future display. Larry has been recognized as one the region’s top lawyers by Martindale-Hubbell in a peer recognition poll.
