MINI Canada announces 2009 MINI Convertible Pricing

Whitby. MINI Canada is pleased to announce pricing for the 2009 MINI Cooper
Convertible and MINI Cooper S Convertible.

The 2009 MINI Cooper S Convertible, with an MSRP of $36,350, will be powered by
the much acclaimed, and now familiar 1.6-litre turbocharged four cylinder
engine with direct fuel injection, producing 172 hp @ 5,500 rpm and 177 ft-lb
of torque from 1,600 through 5,000 rpm. Mated to a standard six-speed manual
transmission, the new MINI Cooper S Convertible will maintain its
high-performance reputation, launching from 0-100 km/h in 7.4 seconds, with a
minimal appetite for fuel, sipping only 5.7 L/100km (highway).

The 2009 MINI Cooper Convertible, with an MSRP of $29,950, will emulate the
crisp performance and thrifty habits of its MINI Cooper hatchback and Clubman
cousins, employing the 1.6-litre four cylinder engine with fully variable valve
management and output of 118 hp at 6,000 rpm and 114 ft lb of torque at 4,250
rpm. Capable of accelerating from 0-100 km/h in 9.6 seconds, the MINI Cooper
Convertible equipped with manual transmission also achieves a remarkable fuel
economy rating of 5.3 L/100km (highway).

The 2009 MINI Convertible inherits all of the DNA of the current family of MINI
hatchback and Clubman models with an all-new body/chassis, drivetrain and
updated interior.

New features on the 2009 MINI Convertibles are highlighted by:

• An all-new Rollover Safety System in a "pop-up" configuraton which deploys
electromechanically within 150 milliseconds.
• A standard Electrohydraulic Convertible Roof with larger rear window,
complemented by
a unique and decidedly "MINIesque" innovation - the Always-Open Timer which
measures how long the driver and passengers have enjoyed their MINI Convertible
with the roof down.
• Standard Automatic Climate Control including a special Convertible mode which
maintains pre-set cabin temperature even with the roof down and is activated
automatically.
• An all-new body , integrated with a reinforced, crash-optimised floorpan with
passenger cell stiffness increased some 10% over its predecessor, yet lighter
by 10 kg.
The 2009 MINI Convertible lineup will be in MINI showrooms on March 28, 2009.
