BMW, OrangeCat Racing and Sean Dylan Kelly capture their third win and third second place podium position of the season during MotoAmerica Superbikes at Mid-Ohio.

• SDK and BMW M 1000 RR win Race 1 and podium in Race 2.
• Jayson Uribe closes the gap in Championship standings.
• Kaleb De Keyrel makes his return onboard third OrangeCat Racing BMW.

Woodcliff Lake, NJ – August 3, 2026 . . .With three race weekends remaining, Sean Dylan Kelly, Jayson Uribe, OrangeCat Racing and the BMW M 1000 RR depart MotoAmerica Superbikes at Mid-Ohio with another excellent result, further extending their lead in the Quad-Lock Superbike Class.

Jayson Uribe’s weekend began with a time good enough for third place in Free Practice 1 which he followed by an excellent qualifying time, putting himself on Row 2 for the start of both Superbike races. Sean Dylan Kelly qualified on the front row, which would give him the opportunity to use the M 1000 RR’s power to take the lead at the start on both Saturday and Sunday.

Kelly took the lead early during Race 1 but moved back to P3 after three laps. He  immediately began his attack to retake the lead, which he did with six laps to go. From then on, he was never really in danger of relinquishing his position, winning the race with a comfortable cushion. Uribe brought his BMW M 1000 RR home in P9, adding important points to his Championship standings.

Sunday’s Race 2 proved again just how hard all the riders in MotoAmerica push themselves and their machines. Multiple accidents led to two red flag race stops, the second stop finally resulting in the race being called, as enough laps had been completed according to the regulations. Although Kelly lead the race from the initial start, when the race was stopped the second time, he was in P2, resulting in his third 2^nd place finish of the 2026 season. Jayson Uribe’s pace and patience was rewarded with a P6 finish, closing his gap to seventh place in the season Championship to just one point.

Kaleb De Keyrel made the most of his first weekend onboard the No. 51 OrangeCat Racing BMW M 1000 RR by finishing 2^nd in both races, earning valuable points towards the MotoAmerica Superbike Cup Championship, which replaced last year’s Stock 1000 Class.

Sean Dylan Kelly (rider No. 40 OrangeCat Racing BMW M 1000 RR): “Another extremely positive weekend. In terms of points, our best one to date, I felt so good from FP1, my BMW M 1000 RR was incredible from the start. I felt very connected with the bike and I'm proud of the work that we've been doing because it's now showing. I'm proud of the win that we got yesterday and the clear pace that we had today. Again, unfortunate that we couldn't show everything we had with the race getting cut short, but we take the positives. Thank you to all of BMW Motorrad Motorsport and let's keep it going.”

Jayson Uribe (rider No. 36 OrangeCat Racing BMW M 1000 RR): “From my side of the garage here it was a pretty solid weekend. We had some ups, we had some downs, but at the end of the day, we learned a lot about my riding and the bike set up, especially on hard tires.  We know that we can be fast on soft tires. I just need to be able to transition that to the harder tires as well. We have a lot of good information to take moving on to testing and the next few rounds. I'm confident that we'll continue to improve and fight for those top fives like I know we should be.”

Kaleb De Keyrel (rider No. 51 OrangeCat Racing BMW M 1000 RR): “It was amazing to get back on the BMW again; I absolutely loved that motorcycle when I raced it before and I still love it. One of my favorite bikes. So, it was just really cool to get out in the Superbike Cup Class. I've never raced in that class before and was a great. The bike handled amazing all weekend here at Mid-Ohio and hopefully looking forward to doing some more.”

Quad Lock Superbike Championship Standings

After six rounds of Quad Lock Superbike racing, Sean Dylan Kelly extends his Championship lead by 24 points. Jayson Uribe is in 8^th, just 1 point behind 7^th place.
