Prices for new BMW Motorrad models

and technical specifications of the F 800 S, F 800 ST and K 1200 GT

The following new motorcycles were presented at the EICMA in Milan: the sports
flat-twin bike R 1200 S, the sporty long-distance touring bike K 1200 GT, the F
800 S, the medium category sports bike, and the touring-oriented sibling model
F 800 ST.

The market launch of the K 1200 GT is planned for March 25th 2006. The
previously presented R 1200 GS Adventure will also go on the market on this
date. The F 800 S and R 1200 S will follow in the subsequent months. The last
to be launched will be the F 800 ST.

BMW F 800 S and F 800 ST
The athletic sports bike F 800 S with a dry weight of 182 kg (204 kg ready to
ride) is the first model of a distinctive future series. It guarantees pure
riding fun, with a precise chassis engineered for high directional stability
and excellent agility. A new benchmark in the medium category is defined by the
classic BMW virtues such as safety, the fulfilment of the most rigid
environmental standards and pillion passenger comfort. A closed-loop three-way
catalytic converter, state-of-the-art engine electronics and optional ABS are
characteristic brand features of the new series.

The F 800 ST, the new medium category sports tourer, has a touring-oriented
range of equipment. Unlike the sporty F 800 S there is full trim, a high
windshield and an aluminium luggage rack as standard. The raised handlebars of
the F 800 ST ensure an ergonomically favourable seating position. With this
equipment, the bike is predestined for lengthier journeys carrying either one
or two people. The dry weight of the F 800 ST is 187 kg, while the road-ready
weight (unladen weight according to DIN) is 209 kg.

Both models are powered by the newly designed 2-cylinder in-line engine,
developed in collaboration with Bombardier-Rotax GmbH as a four-valve unit.
With a maximum output of 62.5 kW/85 bhp and corresponding revving power, the
engine fulfils sporty and more ambitious standards. The high compression ratio
of 12:1 and a combustion chamber designed based on the new K engine ensure
effective and low-pollutant combustion as well as a pleasingly low level of
fuel consumption.

The rear-wheel drive selected for the new model series is the well-established
toothed belt drive (F 650 CS). Low-maintenance, smooth-running and light, it
provides the optimum in terms of durability, efficiency, construction space and
weight in this motorcycle category.

BMW K 1200 GT
The K 1200 GT is the successor to the K 1200 GT and is based on the innovative
engine technology of the K 1200 S and K 1200 R. The second generation of the GT
offers a high level of dynamic performance. A crucial factor here is the engine
tuning which is designed for high torque, providing supreme performance figures
and maximum agility. The output of this sporty touring bike is 112 kW/152 bhp.

The chassis components also leave nothing to be desired. The K 1200 GT has the
same technical basis as the K 1200 S and offers customers the Duolever front
wheel guidance system, Paralever for the rear wheel and the electrically
adjustable strut (ESA) as an optional extra.

The GT deserves the name "Gran Turismo" like no other motorcycle. Its serial
trim includes the adjustable seat and handlebars. The windshield can be
electrically adjusted to suit individual needs. Other equipment features are
the pannier system and the BMW Motorrad Integral ABS in the partial integral
version. BMW Motorrad also provides a tailor-made range of optional extras and
special accessories.

The new K 1200 GT offers perfect wind and weather protection and is the optimum
riding machine for tours and long distances. Nonetheless it is surprisingly
narrow and very elegant in its visual appearance.
